Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Roof mounting kit
  • Power drill with hole saw
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Wire strippers/crimpers
  • Sealant (RV roof approved)
  • Multimeter

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location on the RV roof with adequate structural support and clearance from vents and antennas.
  2. Prepare Roof Opening: Mark and cut the roof opening according to the template provided in the installation kit.
  3. Install Roof Curb: Secure the roof curb to the roof structure using appropriate fasteners and seal thoroughly.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect to the RV's 120V AC power supply following local electrical codes. Ensure proper grounding.
  5. Thermostat Wiring: Run low-voltage thermostat wires from the unit to the control panel location.
  6. Mount Air Conditioner: Lift the unit onto the roof curb and secure with provided fasteners.
  7. Seal and Test: Apply sealant around the base, install interior components, and test all functions.
Warning: Installation should be performed by qualified RV technicians. Improper installation may cause water leaks, electrical hazards, or void warranty.

Three-speed fan control allows for customized airflow, from quiet nighttime operation to maximum cooling during hot days.

Ducted Air Distribution

Optional duct kit available for even air distribution throughout the RV, eliminating hot spots and improving overall comfort.

Manual Thermostat Control

Simple rotary thermostat provides reliable temperature control with automatic compressor cycling for consistent cooling.

Quick-Install Design

Pre-charged refrigerant system and simplified electrical connections reduce installation time for RV manufacturers and technicians.

Corrosion-Resistant Construction

UV-stabilized housing and corrosion-resistant components ensure durability in marine and RV environments.

Operating Modes

Cooling Mode

Standard air conditioning operation with temperature control and fan speed selection

Fan Only Mode

Circulates air without cooling, ideal for ventilation and energy savings

Heat Pump Mode

Available on select models for efficient heating during mild weather

High Altitude Mode

Compensates for reduced efficiency at elevations above 2,000 feet

Economy Setting

Reduces compressor cycling for improved energy efficiency

Turbo Cool

Maximum cooling capacity for rapid temperature reduction

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't start Power issue, thermostat setting, circuit breaker Check power supply, verify thermostat setting, reset breaker
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, condenser blockage Clean filters, check for leaks, clear condenser fins
Water dripping inside Clogged drain tube, improper installation Clear drain tube, check unit level and seal
Loud operation Fan motor issues, loose components, debris Check fan motor, tighten mounting hardware, clear debris
Compressor short cycling Thermostat issues, refrigerant problems, electrical Check thermostat calibration, refrigerant charge, electrical connections
Fan runs but no cooling Compressor failure, capacitor issues, refrigerant leak Check compressor, test capacitors, look for refrigerant leaks

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Tripping Breaker: Overload condition - Check for shorts, verify proper wire gauge
  • Ice Formation: Low airflow or refrigerant issue - Clean filters, check fan operation
  • Musty Odors: Mold growth - Clean evaporator coil and drain pan
  • Thermostat Inaccuracy: Calibration needed - Recalibrate or replace thermostat
  • Vibration Noises: Loose mounting - Tighten roof fasteners and check curb seal
  • Reduced Airflow: Duct obstruction - Check and clear air distribution ducts
