Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigerant gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tubing cutter
  • Flaring tool
  • Torque wrench
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearance (minimum 12 inches on all sides), away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: Ensure wall or platform is level, sturdy, and can support unit weight (typically 150-300 lbs).
  3. Install Mounting Bracket: Securely mount bracket to wall using appropriate anchors for wall type (concrete, wood, or masonry).
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Cut copper tubing to required length, flare ends properly, and connect to indoor and outdoor units using torque wrench.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper voltage (208-230V) and amperage as specified. Follow local electrical codes.
  6. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum, then charge with specified refrigerant type and amount.
  7. Test System Operation: Run complete system test including cooling, heating (if heat pump), and check for proper airflow and temperature differential.
Warning: Installation must be performed by licensed HVAC technicians. Refrigerant handling requires EPA certification. Improper installation voids warranty and may cause system failure.

Installation Types Explained

Wall Mount

Most common installation type, ideal for bedrooms and living areas with exterior wall access

Ceiling Cassette

Recessed ceiling installation perfect for commercial spaces and rooms with limited wall space

Floor Standing

Vertical units for rooms where wall or ceiling installation isn't feasible

Ducted System

Centralized system with ductwork for whole-house cooling and heating

Multi-Zone

Single outdoor unit connected to multiple indoor units for zoned temperature control

Window Unit

Self-contained installation for single rooms without need for refrigerant line runs

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not turning on Power outage, tripped breaker, faulty remote Check power supply, reset breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked condenser Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear condenser area
Water leaking indoors Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil Clear drain line, ensure proper drainage slope, check for ice
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, compressor issues Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, contact technician
Frozen coils Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty filters Check filters, verify airflow, check refrigerant charge
Short cycling Oversized unit, thermostat issues, dirty coils Verify proper sizing, check thermostat, clean coils

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Coil temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
  • E3: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor/outdoor units
  • E4: High pressure protection - Check condenser airflow and refrigerant
  • E5: Low pressure protection - Check for leaks and refrigerant charge
  • E6: Compressor overload - Check voltage and compressor condition
