Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Refrigeration manifold gauge set
- Vacuum pump
- Torque wrench
- Tube bender and cutter
- Leak detector
- Multimeter
- Insulation tape and sealants
Step-by-Step Installation
- Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance (minimum 24 inches on all sides), solid foundation, and adequate drainage.
- Mounting: Install mounting pad or brackets according to local building codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Refrigerant Lines: Connect copper refrigerant lines using proper brazing techniques with nitrogen purge to prevent oxidation.
- Electrical Connections: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper disconnect switch. Follow NEC codes for wire sizing and grounding.
- Drain Line Installation: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (1/4" per foot) and trap where required.
- System Evacuation: Evacuate system to 500 microns or less using deep vacuum method for minimum 30 minutes.
- Charge Refrigerant: Weigh in correct refrigerant charge according to nameplate specifications and line length adjustments.
- System Startup: Start system and verify proper operation, check superheat/subcooling, and measure temperature drop.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not cooling/heating | Power loss, thermostat issue, compressor failure | Check circuit breakers, verify thermostat settings, test compressor windings |
| Insufficient cooling capacity | Low refrigerant charge, dirty coils, restricted airflow | Check refrigerant charge, clean coils, check filters and ductwork |
| Unit cycles on/off frequently | Dirty filter, thermostat location, oversized unit | Replace filter, relocate thermostat, verify proper sizing |
| Unusual noises | Loose parts, failing bearings, refrigerant issues | Tighten mounting hardware, check fan motor bearings, verify proper charge |
| Water leakage | Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil | Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check airflow and charge |
| High energy consumption | Dirty components, low refrigerant, duct leaks | Clean coils and filters, check charge, seal ductwork |
