Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tubing cutter and bender
  • Torque wrench
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearance (minimum 24 inches on all sides) on a solid, level concrete pad.
  2. Prepare Electrical Connections: Ensure proper electrical service (208/230V, 60Hz) with dedicated circuit breaker as specified for the unit.
  3. Install Condenser Unit: Position outdoor condenser unit on vibration-absorbing pad, ensuring level placement.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Connect pre-charged refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units using proper brazing techniques with nitrogen purge.
  5. Connect Electrical Wiring: Connect high-voltage power lines and low-voltage control wiring according to wiring diagram.
  6. Evacuate and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum, then release factory charge according to line length requirements.
  7. Connect Condensate Drain: Install proper condensate drain line with trap and route to approved drainage location.
  8. System Startup: Power up system, verify proper operation, and check temperature differential across evaporator coil.
Warning: Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Improper installation may void warranty and create safety hazards.

Refrigerant Lines

Copper tubing that circulates refrigerant between indoor and outdoor units

Thermostat

Control center that monitors temperature and commands system operation

Condensate Drain System

Removes moisture collected during cooling process from evaporator coil

Electrical Components

Includes contactors, capacitors, and control boards for system operation

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
AC won't turn on Power issue, thermostat setting, circuit breaker tripped Check power supply, verify thermostat settings, reset circuit breaker
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, dirty coils Clean/replace filters, check refrigerant charge, clean evaporator and condenser coils
System cycles on/off frequently Dirty filter, thermostat location, oversized unit Clean filter, relocate thermostat away from heat sources, verify proper sizing
Water leakage indoors Clogged condensate drain, frozen evaporator coil Clear condensate drain line, check for proper airflow and refrigerant charge
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, failing motor bearings Tighten all fasteners, clear debris from fan, lubricate or replace motor
Ice on refrigerant lines Low refrigerant, restricted airflow, dirty filter Check refrigerant charge, verify proper airflow, clean/replace filter

Error Codes

  • E0: Pressure sensor fault - Check pressure sensors and wiring
  • E1: Indoor/outdoor communication failure - Check communication wiring
  • E2: Inverter compressor fault - Contact service technician
  • E3: Drain overflow - Clear condensate drain line
  • E4: Outdoor fan motor fault - Check fan motor and capacitor
  • E5: Outdoor temperature sensor fault - Check sensor and wiring
  • E6: Indoor temperature sensor fault - Check sensor and wiring
  • E7: Refrigerant leak detection - Check for leaks and proper charge
