Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Refrigeration manifold gauge set
- Vacuum pump
- Torque wrench
- Tube bender and cutter
- Leak detector
- Multimeter
- Insulation tape and sealant
Step-by-Step Installation
- Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance (minimum 24 inches on all sides) and solid foundation for outdoor unit.
- Mounting Indoor Unit: Install indoor unit on wall with proper leveling, ensuring adequate space for air circulation and maintenance access.
- Refrigerant Line Connection: Connect copper refrigerant lines using proper brazing techniques with nitrogen purge to prevent oxidation.
- Electrical Connections: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper voltage (208-230V) and install disconnect switch within sight of unit.
- Drain Line Installation: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (1/4 inch per foot) and trap to ensure proper drainage.
- Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum, hold for 15 minutes, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
- System Startup: Power up system, check all operations, measure superheat/subcooling, and verify proper airflow.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not cooling | Low refrigerant, dirty coils, compressor failure | Check refrigerant charge, clean coils, test compressor windings |
| Frequent cycling | Dirty filter, oversized unit, thermostat issues | Replace filter, verify proper sizing, calibrate thermostat |
| High energy consumption | Dirty coils, low refrigerant, duct leaks | Clean coils, check charge, seal ductwork |
| Water leakage | Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil | Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check airflow |
| Unusual noises | Loose parts, failing motor, refrigerant issues | Tighten components, lubricate bearings, check charge |
| Ice formation on coils | Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty filter | Check fan operation, verify charge, replace filter |
