Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tubing cutter
  • Torque wrench
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a level, stable outdoor location with adequate clearance (minimum 24 inches on all sides) and proper drainage.
  2. Prepare Mounting Pad: Install a level concrete pad or approved composite pad to support the condenser unit.
  3. Install Condenser Unit: Position the outdoor unit on the pad, ensuring it's level. Secure with appropriate fasteners if required.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Connect pre-charged refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units using proper brazing techniques and nitrogen purge.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a dedicated 240V circuit with proper disconnect switch. Follow local electrical codes.
  6. Connect Drain Line: Install condensate drain line from indoor unit to proper drainage location with appropriate slope.
  7. System Evacuation: Evacuate the system to 500 microns or less using a vacuum pump to remove moisture and non-condensables.
  8. Charge System: Release factory charge and verify proper refrigerant charge using superheat/subcooling method.
  9. Test Operation: Start system and verify proper operation, temperature drop, and airflow.
Warning: Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Improper installation can result in equipment damage, reduced efficiency, and voided warranty.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
AC not cooling Thermostat setting, dirty filter, low refrigerant Check thermostat setting, replace filter, call for service
Unit not turning on Power issue, tripped breaker, thermostat batteries Check power supply, reset breaker, replace thermostat batteries
Poor airflow Dirty filter, blocked vents, blower issue Replace filter, clear vents, check blower operation
Ice on refrigerant lines Low refrigerant, dirty filter, restricted airflow Turn system off, replace filter, call for service
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, failing motor Turn off system, clear debris, call for service
Water leakage Clogged drain line, frozen coil, improper slope Clear drain line, check for ice, ensure proper drainage

Common Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Coil temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E3: High pressure fault - Check for restricted airflow or overcharge
  • E4: Low pressure fault - Check for refrigerant leak or restriction
  • E5: Compressor overload - Check voltage and compressor condition
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor and outdoor units
  • E7: Fan motor fault - Check fan motor and capacitor
