Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tube cutter and flaring tool
  • Torque wrench
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Selection: Choose appropriate location for outdoor unit with proper clearance and indoor unit placement in ceiling space.
  2. Ductwork Planning: Design duct layout ensuring proper airflow distribution and return air pathways.
  3. Mounting Indoor Unit: Securely mount the indoor unit in ceiling space with proper suspension and leveling.
  4. Install Outdoor Unit: Place outdoor unit on stable pad with minimum clearance requirements as specified.
  5. Refrigerant Piping: Connect refrigerant lines using proper brazing techniques, ensuring nitrogen purge during brazing.
  6. Electrical Connections: Connect power supply and control wiring following local electrical codes and manufacturer specifications.
  7. Duct Connection: Connect supply and return ducts to indoor unit with proper sealing.
  8. System Evacuation: Evacuate system to 500 microns or less to remove moisture and non-condensables.
  9. Charge Refrigerant: Charge system with specified amount of refrigerant according to line length.
  10. System Testing: Test operation in cooling and heating modes, check airflow, and verify thermostat control.
Warning: Installation must be performed by licensed HVAC technicians only. Improper installation may void warranty and create safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
System not starting Power failure, circuit breaker tripped, emergency stop activated Check power supply, reset circuit breaker, check emergency stop switch
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked airflow Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear obstructions
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten components, clean fan blades, check mounting
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil Clear drain line, ensure proper drainage, check for ice buildup
Error code displayed System fault detected Refer to error code chart in manual
Fan not operating Motor failure, capacitor issue, control board fault Check motor, test capacitor, inspect control board

Common Error Codes

  • U0: Refrigerant shortage - Check for leaks and charge
  • U2: Low voltage or phase loss - Check power supply
  • U4: Communication error between units - Check wiring
  • E5: Outdoor unit protection - Check for overload
  • E6: Indoor unit protection - Check fan motor
  • H9: Outdoor temperature sensor error - Check sensor
  • J3: Discharge temperature sensor error - Check sensor
  • L5: Inverter compressor overload - Check for restrictions
