Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Torque wrench
  • Pipe cutter and flaring tool
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw attachment

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose appropriate locations for indoor and outdoor units with proper clearances and structural support.
  2. Install Mounting Brackets: Securely mount outdoor unit brackets on a solid concrete pad or wall mounting frame.
  3. Run Refrigerant Lines: Install insulated copper refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units with proper slope and supports.
  4. Electrical Connections: Connect power supply to outdoor unit and indoor unit following local electrical codes and manufacturer specifications.
  5. Ductwork Installation: Install and seal ductwork to indoor unit, ensuring proper airflow and insulation.
  6. Drain Line Installation: Install condensate drain line with proper slope and trap to ensure proper drainage.
  7. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to remove moisture and air, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
  8. System Testing: Test all functions including cooling, heating, fan speeds, and thermostat operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by licensed HVAC technicians only. Improper installation can cause equipment damage, void warranty, and create safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not starting Power outage, circuit breaker tripped, thermostat issue Check power supply, reset circuit breaker, check thermostat settings
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, blocked vents, refrigerant leak Clean filters, check vents for obstruction, contact technician
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten mounting bolts, clear debris, check installation
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil Clear drain line, ensure proper drainage, check for ice buildup
Frequent cycling Dirty filters, thermostat location, oversized unit Clean filters, relocate thermostat, consult installer
Error code displayed System fault, sensor failure, communication error Note error code and contact service technician

Common Error Codes

  • U0: Refrigerant shortage - Check for leaks and charge
  • U2: Low voltage - Check power supply and connections
  • U4: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • E5: Outdoor unit error - Check outdoor unit operation
  • E6: Indoor unit error - Check indoor unit operation
