Marine Grade Cooling System

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Marine-grade sealant
  • Hole saw kit
  • Wire crimpers
  • Multimeter
  • Marine-grade wiring
  • Fiberglass cutting tools

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, away from direct water spray and engine compartments.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: Ensure the mounting surface is flat, solid, and properly reinforced to handle unit vibration.
  3. Cut Installation Holes: Carefully cut holes for air intake, exhaust, and drainage according to template specifications.
  4. Install Seawater Pump: Mount the seawater pump below waterline with proper strainer and anti-siphon valve.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to boat's DC power system with appropriate circuit breaker. Use marine-grade wiring and connectors.
  6. Seawater System: Install through-hull fitting, seacock, and connect seawater lines with double hose clamps.
  7. Ductwork Installation: Install insulated ducting to prevent condensation and ensure efficient airflow.
  8. Test Run: Perform system test on land first, then conduct sea trial to ensure proper operation.
Warning: Marine installations must be performed by certified marine technicians. Improper installation can cause electrical hazards, water intrusion, and void warranty.

Key Features

Marine-Grade Construction

Specially designed with corrosion-resistant materials, epoxy-coated components, and saltwater-proof electronics for harsh marine environments.

Reverse Cycle Heating

Provides efficient heating capability using heat pump technology, eliminating the need for separate heating systems on board.

Variable Speed Compressor

Advanced inverter technology adjusts cooling/heating output to match demand, reducing power consumption and extending component life.

Dehumidification Mode

Special mode reduces humidity without overcooling, perfect for maintaining comfortable conditions in humid marine climates.

Smart Control System

Wi-Fi enabled for remote monitoring and control via smartphone app, with integration to boat's NMEA 2000 network.

Self-Diagnostics

Advanced diagnostic system monitors performance, detects issues early, and provides clear error codes for troubleshooting.

Operating Modes

Cool Mode

Standard cooling operation with adjustable temperature and fan speed settings

Heat Mode

Reverse cycle heating for comfortable temperatures during cooler seasons

Dry Mode

Dehumidification without significant temperature change

Fan Only

Circulates air without cooling or heating, ideal for ventilation

Auto Mode

Automatically switches between cooling and heating to maintain set temperature

Night Mode

Quiet operation with reduced fan speed for sleeping quarters

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't start Power issue, tripped breaker, low voltage Check shore power, reset breakers, verify battery voltage
Insufficient cooling Clogged seawater strainer, low refrigerant, dirty filter Clean strainer, check refrigerant charge, clean/replace filter
Water not flowing Clogged strainer, air lock, pump failure Clean strainer, bleed air from system, check pump operation
Water leakage in cabin Clogged drain line, improper installation, condensation Clear drain line, check installation slope, insulate ducts
Unusual noises Air in seawater system, loose components, pump issues Bleed seawater system, tighten mounts, inspect pump
Error codes displayed System faults, sensor failures, communication errors Refer to error code chart, check sensors and wiring

Error Codes

  • E1: Seawater flow error - Check pump and strainer
  • E2: High pressure fault - Check seawater temperature and flow
  • E3: Low pressure fault - Check refrigerant charge
  • E4: Temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connections
  • E5: Communication error - Check control wiring
  • E6: Compressor fault - Contact service technician
  • E7: Fan motor fault - Check fan motor and wiring
  • E8: Power voltage error - Check incoming power quality
