Parts Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Faulty Part Replacement Solution
Unit not cooling Compressor, capacitor, contactor Check compressor windings, test capacitor, inspect contactor contacts
Fan not running Fan motor, capacitor, fan blade Test motor windings, check capacitor, inspect blade for damage
Short cycling Thermostat, pressure switch, control board Check thermostat calibration, test pressure switches, inspect control board
Refrigerant leak Coil, service valves, line set Pressure test system, inspect coils and connections, repair or replace
Noisy operation Fan motor bearings, compressor mounts, fan blade Check motor bearings, inspect mounting hardware, balance fan blade
Electrical issues Contactor, relay, wiring harness Test contactor operation, check relays, inspect wiring connections

Common Error Codes & Parts Issues

  • E1: High pressure fault - Check condenser coil, fan motor, refrigerant charge
  • E2: Low pressure fault - Check for leaks, filter drier, metering device
  • E3: Compressor overload - Check capacitor, wiring, compressor windings
  • E4: Fan motor fault - Test motor windings, check capacitor, inspect blade
  • E5: Temperature sensor fault - Replace indoor/outdoor temperature sensors
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor and outdoor units
