Installation Guide
Tools Needed:
- Multimeter
- Refrigerant manifold gauge set
- Vacuum pump
- Pipe cutter and flaring tool
- Torque wrench
- Leak detector
- Insulation tape
Step-by-Step Installation
- Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance for airflow and service access. Ensure mounting surface is level and secure.
- Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper voltage (208-230V) and amperage rating. Install disconnect switch within sight of unit.
- Refrigerant Line Installation: Install properly sized copper lines with correct insulation. Ensure lines are free of kinks and properly supported.
- Condensate Drain Setup: Install drain line with proper slope (1/4" per foot) and trap. Connect to approved drainage system.
- Evaporator Unit Mounting: Securely mount indoor unit with proper clearance from walls and ceiling. Ensure level installation.
- Condenser Unit Placement: Install outdoor unit on level pad with minimum 24" clearance on all sides for proper airflow.
- System Evacuation: Evacuate system to 500 microns or less to remove moisture and non-condensables.
- Refrigerant Charging: Charge system with correct type and amount of refrigerant according to manufacturer specifications.
- System Testing: Test all functions including heating, cooling, fan operation, and safety controls.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not turning on | Power loss, tripped breaker, faulty disconnect | Check power supply, reset breakers, verify disconnect switch position |
| Poor cooling/heating performance | Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked coils | Clean/replace filters, check refrigerant charge, clean coils |
| Unit freezing up | Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty evaporator | Check filters and blower, verify refrigerant charge, clean evaporator coil |
| Unusual noises | Loose parts, failing motor, debris in fan | Tighten all fasteners, check motor bearings, clear fan of debris |
| Water leakage | Clogged drain line, improper slope, broken drain pan | Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, replace damaged drain pan |
| Short cycling | Dirty filter, oversized unit, faulty thermostat | Clean filter, verify proper sizing, check thermostat calibration |
| High energy consumption | Dirty coils, low refrigerant, air leaks | Clean coils, check refrigerant charge, seal ductwork leaks |
