Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Drill with various bits
  • Level
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe cutter
  • Vacuum pump
  • Manifold gauge set
  • Tape measure
  • Torque wrench

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearance (minimum 12 inches on all sides), away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: Ensure wall or window frame is structurally sound and can support the unit's weight.
  3. Install Mounting Brackets: Securely attach mounting brackets using appropriate anchors for your wall type.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Connect copper refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units, ensuring proper insulation.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper voltage (120V/240V depending on model). Follow local electrical codes.
  6. Drainage Setup: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (minimum 1/4 inch per foot) to ensure water drainage.
  7. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate air and moisture from refrigerant lines, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
  8. Test Operation: Run system through complete cooling and heating cycles to check for proper operation and leaks.
Warning: Air conditioner installation must be performed by licensed HVAC technicians. Improper installation can cause system failure, void warranty, and create safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't turn on Power outage, tripped circuit breaker, remote control batteries dead Check power supply, reset circuit breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, blocked airflow, refrigerant leak, outdoor unit obstructed Clean filters, clear obstructions, check refrigerant levels
Water leaking indoors Clogged drain line, improper installation slope, frozen evaporator Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check for ice buildup
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, compressor issues Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris from outdoor unit
Foul odors Dirty filters, mold growth in drain pan Clean filters, run self-cleaning cycle, clean drain pan
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal obstruction, sensor issues Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, check indoor unit sensor

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Pipe temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
