Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigerant manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Tubing cutter and bender
  • Torque wrench
  • Leak detector
  • Multimeter
  • Level

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance (minimum 30cm from walls), solid mounting surface, and adequate drainage.
  2. Mounting Unit: Securely mount indoor and outdoor units using appropriate brackets and hardware according to local building codes.
  3. Refrigerant Line Installation: Connect copper refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units using proper brazing techniques with nitrogen purge.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect power supply wiring according to electrical diagram. Ensure proper grounding and circuit protection.
  5. Drainage System: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (minimum 1/4 inch per foot) and trap where required.
  6. System Evacuation: Evacuate system to 500 microns or less using vacuum pump to remove moisture and non-condensables.
  7. R454B Charging: Charge system with R454B refrigerant according to manufacturer's specifications using proper charging methods.
  8. System Testing: Test for leaks, verify proper operation, and measure system performance parameters.
Warning: R454B refrigerant installation must be performed by EPA-certified technicians. Improper handling can result in system damage, reduced efficiency, or safety hazards.

Requires liquid charging into high side, following manufacturer's specific procedures

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not cooling/heating Power issue, thermostat setting, refrigerant leak Check power supply, verify thermostat settings, check for leaks
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked condenser Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear condenser area
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, compressor issue Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, check compressor
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check for ice formation
Unit cycles on/off frequently Dirty filters, oversized unit, thermostat location Clean/replace filters, verify sizing, relocate thermostat
High energy consumption Dirty coils, refrigerant issues, poor insulation Clean coils, check refrigerant charge, improve insulation

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Pipe temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E3: High pressure protection - Check condenser, refrigerant charge
  • E4: Low pressure protection - Check for leaks, refrigerant charge
  • E5: Compressor overload - Check power supply, compressor
  • E6: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • E7: Outdoor fan motor fault - Check fan motor and capacitor
