Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Vacuum pump
  • Manifold gauge set
  • Torque wrench
  • Flaring tool
  • Tube cutter
  • Leak detector
  • Multimeter
  • Level

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper structural support, away from heat sources, and with adequate clearance for airflow and maintenance.
  2. Mount Indoor Unit: Install mounting plate securely to wall, ensuring it is level. Hang indoor unit on plate and secure properly.
  3. Install Outdoor Unit: Place outdoor unit on stable pad or mounting brackets with proper vibration isolation. Ensure minimum clearance requirements are met.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Run insulated copper lines between indoor and outdoor units. Use proper flaring techniques and torque specifications for connections.
  5. Electrical Connections: Connect power wiring according to local electrical codes. Ensure proper grounding and circuit protection.
  6. Connect Drain Line: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (minimum 1/4" per foot) and route to appropriate drainage point.
  7. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns or less. Charge with correct refrigerant type and amount specified by manufacturer.
  8. Test Operation: Start system and verify proper operation. Check temperature differential, airflow, and system pressures.
Warning: Air conditioning installation must be performed by certified HVAC technicians. Improper installation can cause equipment damage, reduced efficiency, and safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not cooling Low refrigerant, dirty filters, thermostat issue Check refrigerant charge, clean filters, verify thermostat settings
Unit not turning on Power loss, tripped breaker, safety lockout Check power supply, reset breaker, wait for safety reset
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper slope, frozen coil Clear drain line, adjust slope, check for ice formation
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, check isolation
Poor airflow Dirty filters, blocked vents, fan issue Clean/replace filters, clear obstructions, check fan operation
Short cycling Dirty coils, oversized unit, thermostat location Clean coils, verify sizing, relocate thermostat if needed

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor error - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Coil temperature sensor error - Check sensor connection
  • E3: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • E4: High pressure fault - Check for restrictions, clean condenser
  • E5: Low pressure fault - Check for leaks, verify charge
  • E6: Compressor overload - Check voltage, allow cool-down
  • E7: Fan motor error - Check fan operation and wiring
  • E8: Drain pump error - Check pump operation and float switch
