Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit not turning on | Power issue, thermostat setting, circuit breaker | Check power cord connection, adjust thermostat, reset circuit breaker |
| Poor cooling performance | Dirty filter, blocked airflow, extreme outdoor temperature | Clean air filter, clear obstructions, allow time in extreme heat |
| Water leaking inside | Improper installation angle, clogged drain, high humidity | Ensure proper tilt to outside, clear drain holes, normal in high humidity |
| Loud or unusual noises | Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration against window | Tighten installation hardware, clear debris, add padding |
| Unit cycles on/off frequently | Dirty filter, thermostat placement, oversized for room | Clean filter, avoid placing near heat sources, check room size |
| Ice formation on coils | Dirty filter, low refrigerant, restricted airflow | Clean filter, contact service for refrigerant check, ensure proper airflow |
Maintenance Tips
- Filter Cleaning: Clean the air filter every two weeks during peak usage for optimal performance
- Seasonal Storage: Remove unit from window, clean thoroughly, and store in dry location during winter months
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down exterior with damp cloth, never use harsh chemicals or pressure washers
- Coil Maintenance: Keep both interior and exterior coils clean and free from debris for efficient operation
