Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Vacuum pump with gauge manifold
  • Refrigerant charging scale
  • Tubing bender and flaring tool
  • Torque wrench
  • Multimeter
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearances (minimum 6 inches from ceiling, 12 inches from walls). Ensure wall can support unit weight.
  2. Install Wall Mounting Plate: Securely mount the plate to wall studs using provided hardware, ensuring it is perfectly level.
  3. Create Wall Penetration: Drill a 3-inch hole through the wall at a downward angle (outside lower than inside) for drainage.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Connect pre-flared copper tubing between indoor and outdoor units. Use torque wrench for proper tightness.
  5. Connect Electrical Wiring: Connect power and communication cables according to wiring diagram. Ensure proper grounding.
  6. Connect Drain Line: Install drain hose with continuous downward slope (minimum 1/4 inch per foot) to proper drainage location.
  7. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns, hold for 15 minutes, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
  8. Test Operation: Test cooling and heating modes, check for proper drainage, and verify remote control operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by EPA-certified HVAC technicians. DIY installation voids warranty and may violate local codes.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't turn on Power outage, circuit breaker tripped, remote battery dead Check power supply, reset breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, low refrigerant, outdoor unit blocked Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear obstructions
Water dripping indoors Clogged drain line, improper installation slope Clear drain line, ensure proper downward slope
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, check isolation
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal blocked, sensor issue Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, reset unit
Error code displayed System malfunction, sensor failure, communication error Note error code and contact authorized service

Common Error Codes

  • P1/P2: Power voltage error - Check power supply voltage
  • E1/E2: Communication error - Check wiring between units
  • F1/F2: Indoor temperature sensor error - Replace sensor
  • H1/H2: Defrost cycle - Normal operation in heating mode
  • U4: Indoor/outdoor communication error - Check connections
  • J1/J2: Refrigerant pressure error - Check charge and lines
