Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Vacuum pump with gauge manifold
  • Flaring tool set
  • Tubing cutter
  • Torque wrench
  • Level
  • Drill with hole saw
  • Refrigerant scale

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location with proper clearance (minimum 6 inches from ceiling, 12 inches from walls) on a solid wall.
  2. Mount Indoor Unit Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the wall using appropriate anchors for wall type.
  3. Create Wall Penetration: Drill a 3-inch hole through the wall with slight downward slope to outdoor side for drainage.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Lines: Connect copper tubing between indoor and outdoor units using flare connections. Ensure proper insulation on suction line.
  5. Connect Drain Line: Install drain hose with proper downward slope (minimum 1/4 inch per foot) to ensure proper condensation drainage.
  6. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit as specified in specifications. Follow local electrical codes.
  7. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
  8. Test Operation: Test cooling and heating modes, check for proper drainage, and verify remote control operation.
Warning: Installation must be performed by a certified HVAC technician. DIY installation voids warranty and may be dangerous.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit won't turn on Power outage, circuit breaker tripped, remote control batteries dead Check power supply, reset circuit breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, blocked airflow, refrigerant leak, outdoor unit obstructed Clean filters, clear obstructions, check for leaks, clear outdoor unit area
Water dripping indoors Clogged drain line, improper installation slope, frozen evaporator Clear drain line, ensure proper slope, check for ice buildup
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, vibration from mounting Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, check installation
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal obstruction, remote sensor issue Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, check sensor window
Unit turns on/off frequently Dirty filters, thermostat placement, incorrect sizing Clean filters, relocate remote, verify unit capacity matches room size

Error Codes

  • P1/P2: Power supply issue - Check voltage and connections
  • E6/E7: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor/outdoor units
  • H1/H2: Defrost cycle - Normal operation in heating mode
  • F3: Drain pump error - Check drain pump and float switch
  • U4: Indoor/outdoor communication failure - Check connection cables
