Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Refrigeration manifold gauge set
  • Vacuum pump
  • Leak detector
  • Multimeter
  • Tubing cutter and bender
  • Torque wrench set
  • Insulation tape and sealant

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Site Preparation: Select a location with proper clearance (minimum 24 inches on all sides) and solid foundation for outdoor unit.
  2. Mounting Indoor Unit: Install indoor unit on interior wall at least 7 feet from floor, ensuring proper drainage slope.
  3. Refrigerant Line Installation: Connect copper refrigerant lines between indoor and outdoor units using proper brazing techniques.
  4. Electrical Connections: Connect to dedicated 240V circuit with proper grounding. Follow local electrical codes.
  5. Drain Line Installation: Install condensate drain line with proper slope (1/4 inch per foot) and trap.
  6. Vacuum and Charge: Evacuate system to 500 microns, then charge with specified refrigerant amount.
  7. System Testing: Test operation in cooling and heating modes, check refrigerant pressures and temperatures.
Warning: Installation must be performed by EPA-certified technicians. Improper installation may void warranty and create safety hazards.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not turning on Power outage, tripped breaker, faulty remote Check power supply, reset breaker, replace remote batteries
Poor cooling performance Dirty filters, low refrigerant, blocked condenser Clean filters, check refrigerant charge, clear condenser area
Water leakage Clogged drain line, improper installation slope Clear drain line, ensure proper drainage slope
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, compressor issues Tighten mounting hardware, clear debris, check compressor
Frozen coils Low airflow, low refrigerant, dirty filters Check filters, verify refrigerant charge, ensure proper airflow
Frequent cycling Oversized unit, thermostat issues, dirty coils Check thermostat calibration, clean coils, verify proper sizing

Error Codes

  • E1: Room temperature sensor failure - Check sensor connection
  • E2: Pipe temperature sensor failure - Check sensor and wiring
  • E3: Communication error - Check wiring between indoor/outdoor units
  • E4: High pressure protection - Check condenser, refrigerant charge
  • E5: Low pressure protection - Check for leaks, refrigerant charge
