Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench set
  • Vacuum pump with manifold gauge
  • Pipe cutter and flaring tool
  • Torque wrench
  • Level and measuring tape
  • Drill with core bit
  • Leak detector

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Select Installation Location: Choose a location for both indoor and outdoor units with proper clearances, solid mounting surfaces, and away from heat sources.
  2. Mount Indoor Unit: Install mounting plate on wall, ensuring it's level. Leave minimum 15cm clearance from ceiling and 10cm from side walls.
  3. Install Outdoor Unit: Place on stable, level surface or mounting brackets with proper vibration isolation. Maintain 30cm clearance on all sides for airflow.
  4. Connect Refrigerant Pipes: Run insulated copper pipes between units. Use proper bending radius and avoid sharp bends. Flare connections properly.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to dedicated circuit with proper rating. Follow UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). Ensure proper earthing.
  6. Vacuum and Charge System: Evacuate system to 500 microns minimum for 15 minutes. Charge with specified refrigerant type and quantity.
  7. Test Operation: Run system in cooling and heating modes. Check temperature differentials, airflow, and verify no leaks.
Warning: Installation must be performed by a qualified F-Gas certified engineer in accordance with UK building regulations and manufacturer specifications.

Key Features

Toshiba Inverter Technology

Advanced DC inverter compressor adjusts power output to match cooling/heating demand, providing precise temperature control while reducing energy consumption by up to 30%.

Quiet Operation

Specialised fan design and vibration dampening technology ensure ultra-quiet operation as low as 21dB, quieter than a whisper for undisturbed comfort.

4-Way Airflow

Adjustable horizontal and vertical louvers allow customised airflow direction, ensuring even temperature distribution throughout the room without cold spots.

Auto Clean Function

Automatically dries the indoor unit's heat exchanger after operation to prevent mould and bacteria growth, maintaining air quality and unit efficiency.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Compatible with Toshiba Home AC Controller app for remote control, scheduling, and energy monitoring from your smartphone or tablet.

Eco Mode

Intelligent energy-saving mode that optimises operation to reduce power consumption while maintaining comfort levels.

Operating Modes Explained

Cooling Mode

Standard air conditioning operation with temperature range 16°C - 30°C

Heating Mode

Heat pump operation efficient down to -15°C outdoor temperature

Dry Mode

Dehumidification function that removes excess moisture without overcooling

Fan Mode

Air circulation only with multiple speed settings

Auto Mode

Intelligent mode that automatically selects cooling or heating based on room temperature

Sleep Mode

Gradually adjusts temperature and reduces fan speed for comfortable sleeping conditions

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Unit not starting Power supply issue, remote control batteries dead, timer setting active Check circuit breaker, replace remote batteries, check timer settings
Poor cooling/heating Dirty filters, blocked outdoor unit, incorrect temperature setting Clean filters, clear outdoor unit obstructions, set appropriate temperature
Water dripping indoors Clogged drain pipe, improper installation slope, dirty filters Clear drain pipe, ensure proper slope (1:100), clean filters
Unusual noises Loose parts, debris in fan, ice formation on coils Tighten mounting screws, clear debris, check for refrigerant issues
Frozen coils Dirty filters, low refrigerant, restricted airflow Clean filters, call for service, ensure proper airflow around units
Remote not working Dead batteries, signal obstruction, remote sensor issue Replace batteries, ensure line of sight, check indoor unit sensor

Error Codes

  • E01/E02: Room temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E03/E04: Coil temperature sensor fault - Check sensor connection
  • E05: Communication error between units - Check wiring connections
  • E06/E07: Outdoor unit fan motor fault - Contact service
  • E08: High pressure protection - Check outdoor unit airflow
  • E09: Low pressure protection - Check for refrigerant leak
  • P0/P1: Power supply voltage issue - Check electrical supply
