Step-by-Step Installation
- Choose Installation Location: Select a window that can support the weight of the unit and is near an electrical outlet. Ensure the window opens and closes properly.
- Prepare the Window: Clean the window sill and frame. Remove any obstacles that might interfere with installation.
- Install Support Bracket: For heavier units, install the support bracket according to manufacturer instructions to ensure proper support.
- Position the Unit: Carefully lift the air conditioner into the window opening. Have an assistant help with heavier units.
- Secure the Unit: Extend the side panels to fill the window gap and secure them in place. Use the provided screws to fasten the unit to the window frame.
- Seal the Gaps: Apply weather stripping or foam insulation around the unit to prevent air leaks and improve efficiency.
- Electrical Connection: Plug the unit into a dedicated 120V, 15-20 amp grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords.
- Test Operation: Turn on the unit and test all functions including cooling, fan speeds, and thermostat settings.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit won't turn on | Power issue, thermostat setting, timer active | Check power supply, adjust thermostat, check timer settings |
| Poor cooling performance | Dirty filter, blocked vents, outdoor temperature too high | Clean filter, clear obstructions, check ambient temperature |
| Water leaking inside | Unit not tilted properly, drain holes blocked | Ensure proper tilt (slight downward angle to outside), clear drain holes |
| Unit vibrating or noisy | Loose installation, foreign objects in fan | Secure mounting, check for and remove obstructions |
| Frozen coils | Dirty filter, low refrigerant, restricted airflow | Clean filter, call for service, ensure proper airflow |
| Fan running but no cooling | Compressor issue, thermostat problem, low refrigerant | Check compressor operation, test thermostat, call for service |
